Nelson Technology Partners believes very strongly in giving back to the community, on a local level and on a global level through a variety of ways.
CyberRays: Burlington Parks and Recreation Soccer Team
Soccer is the family sport with the Nelson household. One of Michael’s daughters is involved on a Burlington Rec team, and he chose to become the team sponsor. And he wanted to take the opportunity to give back beyond just providing jersey’s for the team. Michael loves taking the time to design a really sharp look for the team to help give them that extra boost of confidence on the field.
Michael goes beyond just providing a team look and jersey, he also gets out on the field and helps by acting as Assistant Coach. He says that the whistle is his favorite part. Kidding aside, he loves the opportunity to bond with the other parents and children on the team. He also loves supporting his family and encouraging them towards a healthy, active lifestyle.
Women’s Resource Center (Alamance County)
Nelson Technology Parnters is a corporate sponsor of the Alamance County Women’s Resource Center. The mission of the WRC is to help women and their families improve and enrich their personal lives through education, support services, networking and community resources.
Amber, NTP’s Client Manager, regularly attends the Working Women’s Wednesdays events, which brings the women of the local professional community together for enrichment purposes.
Green Initiatives – Global Responsibility
Hybrid Car
Michael is on the road a lot. He’s traveling back and forth to provide client care on location. He’s chosen to move forward with a Hybrid model as a company car in order to do his part to decrease the company’s carbon footprint.
“It makes more sense. If you’re going to be on the road and that’s part of your job, you should be environmentally responsible.”
— Michael Nelson, Owner of Nelson Technology Partners
Support for OE Enterprises
NTP believes in being environmentally responsible in regards to recycling in general, but especially with old computer parts. There are toxic elements within a computer that are certainly not biodegradable, so there are proper ways to eliminate technology-based waste.
OE Enterprises (among other places) is a drop off site for old computer or electronic waste. They provide electronic recycling services to our local community. Read more here.
We encourage all our connections to recycle properly, and if you’ve got any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us!
